Bariatric Pre-surgical Evaluation
Dr. White has extensive experience in conducting psychological evaluations for bariatric surgery candidates.
Prior to her faculty appointment at Yale, Dr. White completed a clinical internship in the Weight Management Center at the Medical University of South Carolina. Specific duties included conducting comprehensive evaluations for bariatric surgery candidates. Dr. White administered psychological, neuropsychological, cognitive, and personality screening measures and generated recommendations about the appropriateness of patients for the bariatric surgery.
In addition, Dr. White has an ongoing research line focusing on bariatric surgery outcomes. A list of selected publications on this topic is listed below.
Finally, Dr. White has served as a member of the Editorial Board for Surgery for Obesity and Related Diseases and was honored as one of the journal’s “Top 25” reviewers.
