Psychotherapy

Individual Psychotherapy

Dr. White’s clinical specialization is the treatment of eating disorders and body image disturbance. Treatment goals are to develop and maintain healthy eating patterns, while also working on the emotional factors that underly eating problems. If indicated due to physical health concerns, treatment focus may include weight loss. Treatment goals are established collaboratively with clients, and reviewed throughout treatment.

Associated Difficulties

Eating disorders seldom occur in isolation. Other problems, such as depression or anxiety, can lead to or exacerbate eating disorders. Dr. White also provides empirically-supported treatments for depression and anxiety.

She was previously the Associate Director of the Yale Center for Anxiety and Mood Disorders, where she provided training and clinical supervision for junior therapists in the treatment of common psychological issues, including anxiety, mood disorders / depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

Teletherapy

In cases in which travel is not possible or advisable, Dr. White offers teletherapy. For the past 25 years, Dr. White has developed treatment programs for use in online teletherapy. Due to licensing laws, clients must reside in a state that participates in the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT®).
